1. When did you know you wanted this as your career?
From a young age but I fell into Hospitality Management after education many moons ago and the years passed by... I have always cut family and friends hair though and knew that doing something creative was what I wanted to do. I took a break and after a stint of travelling for two years I decided to retrain at the age of 30 and went to The London Hair Academy to train in Barbering... FINALLY!
2. What is your favourite part of the job?
Being creative and getting to work with all walks of life on a daily basis. When you get a client that loves bold fashion and lets you go wild with a statement haircut... That's the best.
3. Any advice to anyone thinking of this as a career?
Just do it! Believe in yourself. don't allow anyone to tell you that you can't do it because you can. There is no wrong way. Barbering is an art, so learn the basics and let your creativity grow!
4. Top tip?
Be open-minded and ready to adapt. Whether it's to suit your client or your place of work. Also never think you're good enough, keep learning.
5. Who is the most famous person you have cut?
A few Man United and City players but as I have no clue about football I didn't even realise until they had gone and the guys in the shop told me... So apparently they were famous.
6. What is your favourite product to use and why?
Morrocanoil, as I have big curls and Argon Oil, is a dream for them. I also like Evo and use it a lot on clients, it has something for all hair types. Both are cruelty-free and environmentally friendly which is incredibly important to me.
